Bowen Technique, Bowen Therapists

Vivienne Boyes MBTER

I qualified in December '05 and have had very good results with clients suffering from back pain, stress and fatigue, sciatica, pins and needles, muscular skeletal weakness, shoulder and neck pains, sore knees and pelvic imbalances, and tension in the jaw and teeth grinding.

I have also had good results treating pregnant women wishing to promote their chances of having a natural childbirth, and children and babies, who are very rewarding to work with as they respond to treatments very quickly. Recently, I successfully treated a baby with torticollis and plageocephaly. (Flat head syndrome).

Daily clinics are held at my home:
Sycamore Cottage, 1a Wyggeston Road, Bottesford, NG13 0DB - click here for a map.

I also do home visits by arrangement.

Other clinics I work at are:
The Living Health Centre, 2-6 North Parade, Grantham, NG31 8AN (click here for a map)
and
The Natural Food Company, 11 Eaton Place, Bingham, Nottingham, NG13 8BD (click here for a map)

TESTIMONIALS

"I have had two sessions of treatment from Viv and I have to say that in addition from helping to resolve two problems for me I found the treatment extremely relaxing both during the treatment and afterwards." MB

“After one treatment for debilitating back pain, I felt as if I had been let out of prison and a fortnight later it has not returned.” LL

“No pain at all after riding – yippee! Tired spells have gone too and lots of energy! Think I mentioned to you that having read your leaflet I saw that some people have Bowen sessions about four times a year for energy levels and relaxation. Well I will become one of your permanent clients!” ES

“I sat on my seat bones and was able to wrap my legs round Bill and feel balanced and relaxed.
This morning (8am) I had my riding lesson and it was one of the best ever for both of us. Angela our teacher said so too. I did most of the hour without stirrups and was able to walk and trot on the bit nicely and got Bill cantering too. (Trot to canter is my difficult thing) I felt more secure in my seat and balance.” SM

“After just one treatment a nagging pain in my lower back disappeared. I'd had the pain for months - it was such a relief! I'd tried other alternative therapies but they did not take away the pain like Bowen” Diana Bradshaw-Bingham 28.3.07

"Back Spasms the doctor told me (After I got stuck in the chair in the
waiting room!) I could not stand up straight, either standing or walking,
being totally bent over and very crooked when I first presented for
treatments with Vivienne. I was in pain sitting or even laying down. After
my first visit there was immediate improvement, I was standing much
straighter and even able to sit down for short times. My second and third
visits to Vivienne enabled me to get back to normal, back to work and off
the pain killer tablets. I would recommend Bowen Therapy to anyone with
back or muscular pain. Thank you Vivienne!" Susie Cross

Vivienne Boyes - Bowen Technique therapist

I am an ex-careers advisor, aged 53, interested in the value of Alternative Therapies, and preventative health care. I have been riding horses since the age of 11, and have lower back degeneration due to falling off far more times than I care to remember!

Having been unable to ride due to sciatica, I tried Chiropractic, Cranio-Sacral, Acupuncture and Shiatsu. Personally, I found Acupuncture very helpful in the past, but I trained in Bowen because it is equally helpful for me, and non-invasive, being a light and gentle therapy. I am small in stature, and very much enjoy giving Bowen treatments, and often feel better for giving them. I am very interested in treating people with back pain, and stress and tension based issues, in addition to asthma, hayfever, and digestive problems. Bowen can also help to reduce rehabilitation time after any illness, surgery, or injury, regardless of how old or recent it may be.

In the future, I hope to take courses in both Canine and Equine Bowen, and my intended specialism would be the postural inter-relation between horse and rider. I still ride, finding that Bowen maintenance treatments keep me fit and able.
